Joseph Beuys : A New Idea of Art, 1984 - 1987

32' 33'', Betacam SP, PAL, 4/3, couleur, son

In December 1984, Joseph Beuys installed the work Olivestone, a new idea of art at the Castello di Rivoli. The latter consists of blocks of stone whose upper side is covered in a layer of olive oil, in which the richly decorated ceilings of the palace are reflected. Gianfranco Barberi and Marco di Castri film the mounting of the work, and held an interview with Joseph Beuys on this occasion, incorporating extracts of it in their video.
