In this conference entitled “Active Neutrality – Beyond Capitalism and Communism”, Joseph Beuys develops some of the major axes of his thought: in defence of a spiritualised conception of human beings, insistence on the potential modification of our societies through collective action, etc. Encompassing references ranging from Christ to Niklas Luhmann to the philosophy of the Enlightenment period, Joseph Beuys' intervention is as ambitious as it is obscure. Produced within the framework of the F.I.U. (Free International University), it is nonetheless a rare testimony of the efforts undertaken by Joseph Beuys in the development of an alternative conception of teaching.
