A blurred field of vision appears between the spectator's fingers, the witness taking refuge, obstructing part of the representation. This work was made in Yugoslavia and presents the rural world and the bourgeoisie, nature and culture, in a Brechtian relationship (explicitly referenced). A parallel montage with occasional use of superimposed shots shows the Yugoslavian people labouring the earth with images of oppression and of the invasion of Yugoslavia by the Germans in reverse shots to their worried gazes. A group of erudites consult huge books in an amphitheatre, murmuring inaudible words in a kind of murmur that is increasingly amplified. Here, Marcel Odenbach poses the question of individual moral responsibility in the face of the History that has been hidden and is never shown.
